In 2003 I started to work on compositions influenced by Satie, Debussy, Swedish folk music, ambient and jazz. The compositions were not intended for any special purpose, but in 2004, my girlfriend asked me to record the songs as a Christmas gift for her. So I did, during the winters of 2004 and 2005, in a 19th century cottage in the Swedish countryside, my home at the time. In 2006, I burned and sold 50 CDRs with the music. Since then I have been creating and releasing electronic music, both under my own name and as part of Sally Shapiro - sometimes taking influences from these piano songs, such as Sally Shapiro's "Skating In The Moonshine", whose verses builds on the theme of "8ths". From time to time, people have asked about how to get hold of this album, and encouraged me to make it available. So I finally decided to re-release the album as a download, again via my own label, Husmus Media. The label name Husmus Media was chosen since for a long time, the mice in the cottage had been the only living beings listening to the music (”husmus” is Swedish for housemouse).
